Hi guys i'm newer on this forum.
Could someone helping me on installig MVT Sort/Merge from Source on hercules emulator?

My question is, after unzipping files what i have to do to restore this dataset?

I can't say this from personal experience, but if you have loaded OS/360 you also have installed the OS/360 sort/merge.
SM023 (its formal designation) is no DFSORT, but it is the lineal father of Syncsort. For its day it was outstanding.
I started mainframes with 7040 IBSYS/IBJOB. There was a sort component in IBJOB, but it was very hard to use. With disk SORTWK data sets, SM023 was easy to use, even for trivial (as in, say, a half dozen records) sorts, and JCL made it easy to link sorting with execution of other programs. |

More likely the IBSYS in Enrico's link is for the 7090 version, not the 7040 version I remember. The download link in Enrico's post did not work for me. 7040 and 7090 IBSYS were similar, but by no means identical. |
