Hi, I am new to CA Products and am doing self-learning and reading manuals to find the solution to Read SYSLOG via rexx or via JCL copy of current Syslog to my dataset.
Is this possible as under IBM SDSF, I could access through SDSF API under Rexx and read the syslogs for certain keywords.
I would like to issue an Operator Command and then read the syslog to extract certain information from the z/OS Operator command.
I would really appreciate any guidance to my question.
Thank You in advance,
Regards,
Jasi. |

In SDSF you use XDC to copy the job that you want into a dataset. This can also be done using the Rexx/SDSF interface. Issuing system commands may not be possible unless you are authorised.
As a beginner you should really post in the beginner's forum. Search there for rexx/sdsf jobs. |

Jasi - I can understand your frustration. For better or worse, there do not seem to be many CA-Sysview users, so it will not be terribly easy to get Sysview responses. While I do not monitor this area very much, I think I can recall several people requesting information about using Sysview with Rexx, and can't recall many, if any, responses with any value.
Good luck. FWIW, I can't help you. I do not have access to Sysview. |
