Hi everyone!
At the client of i work we using a JCL to do a CEMT command in SDSF and after send that to a Rexx.
I have a question: can we used Rexx directly to send commands to CICs? I read in google about "address REXXCICS" so i try a think like that:
| Code: |
/* Rexx */
Address Rexxcics
'CEMT INQUIRE DB2CONN' |
But i obtain a RC=3
I have not a big idea about rexx or cics... sorry Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance! |

Show us your JCL. I do not know anything about CICS, but think you probably need to have CICS loadlib in the STEPLIB DD statement. And possibly something else in the rexx to do some setup.
I doubt that just anyone can issue CICS commands, so you might need some RACF authorization.
It seems like CEMT is an operator command. You might be able to use the TSO CONSOLE command in rexx (along with CONSPROF and GETMSG function). You will also need authorization to use the CONSOLE command. |
