My name is Aleksandar Chakarov, and I am a senior research scientist at Phase Change Software LLC.

Together with our collaborators at Virginia Commonwealth University we are conducting a research study to better understand COBOL developers' perspective on software defects and strategies for localizing those defects. We are looking for experienced COBOL developers to share their knowledge and insights, that will help us better understand defect location in the context of COBOL. This forum is a great community resource and we are hoping to get some motivated volunteers.

The survey takes about 35 minutes to complete and is open until July 26 2020.
As a way to say "thank you", we will be sending out $25 (USD worth) Amazon gift cards to 30 participants.

Below you can find the link to the survey: Zoho Survey

Thank you on behalf of PhaseChange and our collaborators at Virginia Commonwealth University!
Sincerely,
Aleksandar Chakarov, PhD

Hovering on the link shows nothing. I would never click on this, and I'm surprised software researchers would expect experienced programmers to click on an unidentified link.

Here is the link in plain text so you can decide for yourself:

You can do the same if you right click and copy the link address. You should always do that rather than click or hover on links people provide anyway.

We are also happy to shoot you an email from our company or academic accounts with the link (if you prefer that PM me).

Zoho Survey is a standard third-party survey building tool. You are welcome to research the domain.

I wanted to thank everyone who already participated in our survey. Your help and input is very much appreciated. We are looking for 10 more people to take the survey.

As it stands you still have a highly non-trivial chance of winning one of the gift cards we want to give away as a thank you.
Please remember to specify an email address, otherwise we do not have a way to get back to you with a gift card.

Thank you once again for the participation and we look forward to hearing from a few more volunteers!

Sincerely,
Aleks Chakarov

Thank you everyone for your participation! We are extending the survey till the end of the business week Friday EOB MST. We are looking for 2-3 more responses to get us to our mark.

For those of you who provided us with email addresses and opted in for a follow up interview we will be in touch with a few of you soon to schedule some time at your convenience and provide a few details.

For everyone who participated, please be on the lookout this weekend for an email with details whether you won a gift card and how to claim it.

Thank you all once again for your participation! We would appreciate one final push from 2-3 last minute volunteers!

Sincerely,
Aleks Chakarov
