Experts, Senior Members and Everyone,

Requesting your help on a unique situation we are facing.

We are trying to test a ETL tool. Our end goal is to do ETL process on IMS DB ( extract the data from IMS, Transform it to Relational format and then Load it to MySQL / any other relational database) for analytical purposes. Now the problem in front of us is that we do not have an active IBM mainframe connection. But we do have a ETL tool which is designed to support IMS DB to SQL data transfer. This is the reason why we would like to know whether there is a way to simulate IMSDB on windows OS and test the connection / data transfer. Similarly the case for DB2 as well. Are there any simulators or tools available which can be installed on Windows OS so that we can replicate ODBC connection.

We tried various sources to get this information including forum search but couldn't locate any useful information. Appreciate your help in advance.

If any sort of IMS DB simulator was running on Windows (what for???), then you would only be able to check connection between two Windows, but not with any zOS…
Isn't it?
