Hi,

Suppose there is a RACF group GRP1 and it has subgroubs SUBGRP1 and SUBGRP2 under it.

I am trying to find the list of groups that have access to dataset WELLS.DATASET.NAME. So issued the command
Code:
TSO LD DA('WELLS.DATASET.NAME') G ALL

OUTPUT OF LD COMMAND:
Code:
  ID     ACCESS
--------  -------
SUBGRP1    ALTER

I understand that this means SUBGRP1 has alter access to the dataset, does this also imply that GRP1 which is the owning group of SUBGRP1 also has alter access to the dataset?

I am a RACF noob and trying to understand whats on this link www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSLTBW_2.2.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r2.icha700/icha700_Establishing_your_RACF_group_structure.htm

Thanks in advance,

There is no access inheritance in RACF. Only SUBGRP1 will have the access.
