Hi, We have a Java based front end application and behind each screen a CICS transaction is triggered.
I need to built a tool where I can keep a log of transactions which were hit in CICS region when a particular screen was attempted. Also I would like to keep there stim(input) and response(outputs) so that if required I can refer back to them.
As the transaction logging volume would be too high so I will prefer keeping logs for 15 mins to half an hour only.
Could you please give me some startup idea regarding how can I build such a tool using? |

speak to Your cics support group to see if something is already in place
almost every organisation has had the need to track the usage of some transaction / program
so You might get lucky
investigate also the use of the cics statistics, You might get what You want by using the CICS provided tools |

This idea is by yourself or someone else asking you? If someone else then tell them to buy a tool instead of reinventing the wheel which needs deep system knowledge, resources and support staff post deployment and still the outcome is not guaranteed. |

Tools like Mainview for CICS, or Omegamon or CICS PA can do this. But it would be very difficult and complex task to write a tool by yourself from scratch. |
