If that is the full and complete sysout for the step, then I can only suggest you contact SyncSort for assistance.

Hello,

Did you check ALL of the queued output - Not just the "sysout" from the sort?

There most likely IS some additional diagnostic in the output somewhere.

I have never seen Syncsort just "fall over" without some diagnostic information . . .

The only diagnostic information is This.

Code:

+WER999A VIPD957 ,PVIPD957,SRT000B -  UNSUCCESSFUL SORT 307 W
IEF450I VIPD957 SRT000B PVIPD957 - ABEND=S000 U0016 REASON=00000000  758
        TIME=07.43.15

Hello,

"Somewhere" Syncsort will have generated the "why" of the "ABEND=S000 U0016 ".

Make sure you look in he first 3 JES output files as well as any other DD statement that has output from the problem sort process.

With an internet search I did find something similar (no explanation for it) although those codes at the end were different.

Alissa Margulies (of SyncSort) suggested contacting SyncSort support on that one.

If there is no further diagnostic information (which may not be WER* messages) then I see no choice.

You have a large file. You could try subsets of the data to see if the problem can be worked around.
