Hi,
We have RMF. My requirement is to have a view of sysplex utilization(MSU consumption/LPAR) for the past few hours say 4 hours.
The option Monitor III --> OVERVIEW --> CPC capacity screen gives a view of the sysplex and has data for about 2 days history.
If I want generate a report of utilization trend, for the past 4 hours of the information shown in CPC capacity screen. How can I do it?
We can scroll between time ranges using PF11 or PF10 in online screens, but I am not sure how we can get this information in a batch job as a report.
I am somewhat aware of postprocessor, but it needs SMF file as input. Is there anyway we can get utilization trend without SMF file as input.
Because SMF file is not available immediately for real-time analysis. I guess RMF stores its data someplace other than SMF, can we access it?
I saw the RMF user guide, but being a noob in RMF unable to determine what is what. Please let me know your thoughts on this requirement.
Thanks & Regards, |

Hello,
I guess I explained it too much and many went tl;dr
The requirement was to get LPAR utilization for past 4 hours without accessing MAN datasets preferably from RMF monitor.
One of my smart colleague suggested a nice idea,
1. Issue HARCOPY ON command in RMF CPC screen.
2. Scroll through the time range in online mode using PF10 and PF11.
3. All the scrolled screen dumps are captured on USERID job.
4. Write some program to process the screen dumps.
Any other alternate ways are still welcome.
Thanks & Regards, |

Hello,
*bump*
The solution in previous post involves manual work. Can this whole thing be done in batch? any pointers would be helpful. Thank you.
