Our shop has upgraded the CICS Transaction Server Version 4.1.0 after that we are getting in strobe as below
KOCDINEA OCDEIN is consuming 7 to 10% in all cics region jobs.

What is KOCDINEA? How to eliminate this one? any idea or suggestion. Thanks in advance

Any chance it is an application program of yours? Not you personally (you'd recognise it), but of your site? Word does not exist on the web, so it is something at your end.

KOCDIN* programs are likely to be Omegamon. I don't see KOCDINEA at my shop but I see KOCDINAA, -BA, -CA and -DA. I'd start there and see if that product gives any tuning capability.

Thanks for quick reply. Our shop has one primary side and another one secondary side but this program is coming only in primary side. How can see the product KOCDINEA?

The product is Omegamon and KOCDINEA is a program within that product (I think).

Ask your site support people where they installed the Product (and where the documentation for it is held).

If CICS has loaded the program, then it's in one of the libraries in DFHRPL. Search through the memberlists of these and then see who owns the library where you find it.

It may not be Omegamon - but the name is so similar to those I've found in Omegamon......

Have Tech Support/CICS Sysprog issue in the given target region -

Code:

CEDC E G(*) PROG(KOCDINEA)

This will give you the Resource Definition Group where this program is defined and there might be some associated comments in the definition.

I'm using CEDC because it's a CSD "Read-Only" transid. Optionally, the tech can use CEDA if they desire.

The KOCDINEA module takes care of switching storage keys when needed.(it is an Omegamon module)
If storage protect was activated, this would increase CPU.

How can we see whether storage protect is activated or not . What is use of the option? And Can we remove the storage protect ? Is there any impact?

as usually a question due to sheer laziness

your doubt could have been easily solved with a simple google search
CICS STORAGE PROTECTION
which would have returned quite a few hits , one of which is

publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cicsts/v4r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.cics.ts.applicationprogramming.doc%2Ftopics%2Fdfhp34g.html

edited to add
and the google smartness would have even saved you some typing ...
as soon as I had typed cics stor
google opened a drop box offering various suggestions one of which was ...
guess what

Every time a CICS call is made - CICS changes the key. OMEGAMON is in
the middle and needs to change key to do our processing, so Omegamon will change the key instaead of CICS . As well as upgrading CICS did you also upgrade hardware to a Z196 ? If yes it might be worth comparing data from before the hardware upgrade to post upgrade data
