will job execute sucessfully

Yes, You can.
Job will not abend because of this.

hi balaji,
with duplicate stepname job run sucessfully,but at the time of debugging(like JCLerror) it is difficult to find where exactly (in which step) is the problem...

If you have to reference the stepname (for overrides as an example) the system selects the first step with that name that it finds.
That my or may not give you the results you're hoping for. |

You can run a job with more step with the same name but most part of scheduler does not allow it. |
