Status of Job in OPC application

Hi,

In OPC, one application (XXX) with 10 jobs was scheduled in Curent plan (CP).There were some applications dependent on the XXX. Application XXX was running and 9 jobs were shown in completed status and one job which is before END job went to status 'R'.

Could you please let me know why status R has come even when the application is running.

Surely something that YOU should look at in the manuals perhaps.

Status is Ready - it is waiting for something, an initiator, or special resource, or ............

Look at the extended status code if available.

Hi,

There are no Special resources for the job...
How can we view extended status code for job in OPC?

I don't suppose that you have considered looking this up in the manual for yourself, have you ?

The extended status is the second character in the status field.

See appendix B in

TWS Controlling and Monitoring the Workload SH19-4547-01

Enlighten me telling what kind of bug?
I worked a long time with OPC (from the start) and never heard
about this bug?

Hi Peter..

I am not sure of it...He just told me that it might be OPC bug..When we scheduled the same application next day the jobs ran fine...They didn't go to status 'R'.After that I confirmed it might be OPC bug...

If you are that sure that it is a bug then you must open a ticket with IBM.

it' s a bug, is the usual excuse not to pursue further the issue

This is sometimes used when the person who should know does not. . .

Unfortunately, there are many new people and (more unfortunately) some managers who don't know any better and accept this excuse. . .
