Hi,
Can someone provide me links or reference manuals for CICS basics. I was into IMS DB/DC for last 3 years... all of sudden i put into CICS.... i am new to VSAM and CICS... enhancements started in my project, i dont understand CICS logics and how VSAM is playing role there... i am looking for something to learn quickly... because there is no time for us to learn step by step now.. probably after 2 months we get enough time to learn step by step... now i need very short and simple leanring manual... just to understand the existing code and give fixes.... i am sorry if i asking to much here.... but it due to my situation....
Regards,

The manuals are designed more as reference materials than as teaching guides. Google is your friend. Googling cics tutorial returned 329,000 hits and there were some on the first page of results that would probably help you much faster than just reading the manuals. |

Hello,
At the top of the page is a link to "IBM Manuals". Among these are multiple sets of CICS documentation. Click on the ones for your environment.
Also, have someone show you where to find a few simple applications that are correctly running. From these clone something to use to test. Suggest you talk with your seniors and the cics support to learn how you might proceed with some test transactions. |

You may also try "Murach's CICS for the COBOL Programmer" by Raul Menendez and Doug Lowe. Murach publication also allow you to download couple of Chapters from book, just to develop your interest in book, probably
