Sending Mails using IEBGENER

I am sending files as attachments using IEBGENER utility through SMTP.
The transfers are working fime for files having LRECL less than 1000 but it's not working for files having LRECL >1000. Is there any parameter in SMTP thru which I need to set the size of the file.

1000 is a limit imposed by the standards,
somebody in Your organization should know
