Hi all,
Is there a way to submit a job from mainframe (without using a scheduler) from windows, maybe by running a .bat file.
I am not sure if we can do this without a scheduler like CA11 etc. Actually a scheduler is not available for me always so I am trying to find if there are other options. |

| Log on to the system with a 3270 emulator and submit the job. |

Superk's suggestion is the best method. I'm using FTP to submit jobs from my PC, and I also make use of Window's "Scheduled Tasks" option to submit these jobs, thus have my own scheduler :-)

ankitbahuguna, look at the "SITE" subcommand and the "FILETYPE" and "JES*" parameters.
There's also a whole section 4.13 Interfacing with JES that will give you the details. |

FYI, for all those reading this topic, that is why it's always been suggested as the first option to investigate when looking to implement a scheduling solution for development/test systems. |
