I've deleted a member from the pds now i want to recover it, i used HLIST coomand but i don't have authority access to use it, and also i dont remeber the member name.
Now is there anything like user actions logs to see my action that i have performed, so i can see the member name.

Almost certainly not. Even SMF data doesn't go down to member level of detail

There is a new subtype 21 for the type 42 that tracks member delete.

If it is a PDS and not a PDSE, you can get the member back if you have not compressed the data set. The old PDS utility from the CBT tape, STARTOOLS and maybe others (Fileaid?) can do it.

Hello Usha,

System activity is recorded in SMF records. Different record types hold different information. The type 42 record has a new 21 subtype that records activity (i.e. delete) of a member.

This might help you identify the name of the deleted member. It would not however recover the member.

Is there a chance that there is a recent backup of the pds? If there is a copy of the pds, you should be able to restore it to some new name and rescue the deleted member.

Those are ISPF datasets created when you EDIT with "RECOVERY ON". The changes you make are tracked so that you can "UNDO" them. I dont think you can use these to recreate the member but you might browse them to see the old data for cut and paste.

This is the link to the DFSORT "Smart Tricks" one of which is using dfsort to process smf records:

This is the link to the SMF manual that contains the info about the various record types (including the 42/21 Bill mentioned):
