A comment, if I may: I wouldn't consider REXX (or Clist) to be a Programming Language.

Because it's a scripting language.

But it can work as other language with more opportunities, it is not necessary interpreted.
Why can't be a programming language?
Which is the difference?
I think that CLIST are a scripting language. Rexx may be or not.

My favorite language is Assembler (HLASM). I started off as a COBOL programmer but for the rest of my life, I have been an assembler programmer (both application and system).

And yes, REXX is a programming language, only it is not used for application programming as COBOL or assembler (perhaps).

Cheers,
Panda.
