Thakur,
Only archived elements/versions can be restored. If your shop has the option of archiving test elements, you can always do that. |

I think of two choices:
1. Delete selectively the current version 1.02 then automatically only 1.01 version exist in endevor
OR
2. copy 1.01 version and then update this old version into endevor. So you get new version 1.03 which will be same as 1.01 version. |

its not possible to delete version wise. all the versions will be deleted if we give delete SCL.
in order to restore, take a backup of that version, and then delete and add it again.
this is very rediculous but still we cant restore any versions once we delete the module. |

Advice from many years' experience:
When you are concerned about an issue like this, just create a new dummy member, contents don't matter, then update it, then delete its 1.02 and see what happens.
I'd rather do this (perhaps 30 minutes of work) than rely on the advice of someone I don't even know.
This is how you become the go-to person, because you will really know the answer, not just what you think it maybe oughta be. |

Hello,
Going along with what Phil suggests - play with a copy, not the actual member in question.
If you whack the existing member, you will not be smiled upon. . . |

In DELETE option - dont delete component, you should select or give the exact version which needs to be deleted. This way your component will not be deleted but only the selected version will be deleted.
You can try by creating dummy member and post your concerns |

What option you used?
After selecting the foreground delete option.
select the component by 's' next to it
and then it lists all the versions right? then do # delete on the latest version.
see what happens and let me know |

I can see why this would be legitimate design.
If you are allowed to delete something from a history, be it change control or a transaction history file, then what exactly is history?
The previous suggestion of retrieving the version you want and re-adding it as the latest seems OK. I assume this isn't done too often, so the burden is small. |

Deletion of current level of the element is possible in development environment.
In production no one deletes history information, and change control will restrict this. |

I don't think so. For any region it says 'invalid option'. |

I belive all the Endevor products are the same in Menus.
i use these options to retrieve any version of any code.
2 FOREGROUND - Execute Foreground Actions
then
3 RETRIEVE - Retrieve or copy an element
In the RETRIEVE ELEMENTS menu
give all the credentials like, CCID, program name, type etc.. and then press enter without giving any option.
ELEMENT SELECTION LIST menu appears
In this select the program by givin S before the name, it lists all the version of the program and
then select the particular version you want by giving R in front of needed version.
Hope this answers the first question that was asked. |
