Hello,
Could you give somebody a JCL or REXX code to check the status of job and/or application in OPC.
Many thanks, |

Why, do you not have any manuals that you can read ?
What is wrong with doing it from the online panels ? |

Hello,
If you talk with your scheduling people, they should be able to point you to existing processes at your site. With what they give you and the Fine Manual, you should be able to get what you need. |

Hello,
The function/purpose of the scheduler is to make sure things are not late - they are run when they are scheduled.
If you have some situation that needs attention and requires an external alarm, i'd suggest correcting the scheduling / operating conflict.
You should be able to run against the schedule and get information about jobs that are delayed?
It may be that i'm missing the concept - if so, please clarify |

The delay time is very wide interval, but we have information about the generalt night batch (etc. job AAAAAA ended at 2:15 usually, and we need alert (etc. with TSO SEND ....) if the job is not completed until 2:30). We have engought work, so we need some automatic checker jobs to check some aaplications and jobs at the appointed time. |

Hello,
Might you schedule one or more "checker" jobs to run at the time you need an alert that will obtain the info from the scheduler as to whether the job AAAAAA has been run?
If AAAAAA has not run, send the alert otherwise just end. This "checker" would have no predecessor or dependent jobs.
I'm not sure what you will do when there is an alert, but if i had a similar requirement, i would focus on what needs to be done to ensure the schedule is met. Constantly responding to missed schedules is not a good plan. Implementing extra processes to send and respond to alerts will just cause confusion and (most likely) errors. Whatever is causing AAAAAA to be late needs to be changed or the schedule needs to be adjusted. |

Hello,
I'd suggest talking with your scheduling people and working out a solution together.
What kind of jcl/rexx did you have in mind? |
