what is vanilla mainframes? If anybody knows it please let me know about this?

Usually, vanilla means plain or non-specific. I presume that this means either any non-specific mainframe or compatible, such as IBM, Hitachi, Fujitsu, or Amdhal. Or, maybe it means any mainframe, be it IBM (or compatible), Unisys, DEC, Tandem, or whatever else.

vanilla mainframes means key skills of mainfrmes these are COBOL,JCL,CICS,DB2

Vanilla skills means technolgies like Cobol,Cics,Db2,JCL and Vsam.
