We are an Australian company that (among other things) provides after-hours emergency support for our clients' IBM mainframes - in development environments. We do this by contracting out jobs to our reliable 'stable' of contractors and pay per job, with a minimum 2 hour call out fee for you.
We're looking for professional and experienced support staff to take on basicafter-hours jobs to support nominated clients (based on your background/experience) in their dev environments. The work usually involves connecting remotely and re-starting or fixing JCL for batch jobs, with occasional minor COBOL quick-fixes. (TPF experience would be highly valued too).
A client relationship manager at our end would pass on the work to you and we would normally liaise directly with the client at all stages of the task.
As the work is done remotely, your location is not critical, although Australian residents are preferred and the ability to communicate in English to a high standard is critical.
Please note BEFORE PM'ing:
1. Particularly for applicants outside Australia, we MUST be able to verify your listed qualifications from reputable institutions.
2. We are seeking to contract people directly: and request that agencies do not PM us about these roles.
3. We pay you directly, on an pre-agreed time basis with us, and with a minimum 2 hours paid per job. We don't low-ball our contractors, and aren't looking for the cheapest. Rather we want to enhance our current
'stable' of contractors by adding reliable workers who get the job done a) properly and b) efficiently.
If you're interested, send me a PM with a SHORT description of your background, qualifications, technical experience and English language proficiency (one page maximum at this point in the process), and we can provide you with more information and take it from there.
