Come on Bluebird. Didn't you read; this is URGENT.
Do you expect the poor guy to actually find out how to access the IBM website, THEN find the ICETOOL manuals, THEN go to the index to find an entry for OUTFIL then ACTUALLY read what it says about it?
How cruel! This is URGENT!!! |

MMwife,
I'm sick and tired of those guys who don't want to look into manuals
and that 's the type of info the user requires...
plus by going to IBM the user will have the oportunity to download ICETOOL miniuserguide to his/her PC that will be a source of help for many years to come and the guide is easy to use !!!
I'm cruel but I think it is for his/her own well being and education (mainframe of course)
hope it make me look a bit less cruel ... |

Hi Bluebird.
I think you missed the point. Pick up a dictionary and look up the word "irony".
Regards, Jack. |

jack,
sorry, I was not sure u were being ironic... thanx.
in a way I believe it is good that I missed the 'ironic' point as it allowed to
make another one ...
We here to help we 're not here to give full course on IBM utilities or software. there are IBM manual with all parameters and explanatory text... and there are some businesses whose job it is to offer full course. |

OUTFIL is a DFSORT control statement, not an ICETOOL control statement.
For complete details on DFSORT's OUTFIL statement, see Chapter 3 of "z/OS DFSORT Application Programming Guide".
For complete details on DFSORT's ICETOOL, see Chapter 6 of "z/OS DFSORT Application Programming Guide".
