Hi All,

Using "=6" file tranfer i can tranfer only one file from PC to my Mainframes environment.

Is there any way so that i can tranfer (say some 10 members) to the specified dataset at once to the mainframes.

Thanks in Advance,
Gau

Hi Gau,

You can do this easily by FTP.

Connect to your m/f m/c by ftp and then use mget or mput command to send/recv file from m/f.

Thanks,
Deepak

Our 3270 Terminal Emulation software (IBM Personal Communications 5.5) allows you to create "Transfer Lists" to automate multiple file transfers. I believe most other commercial 3270 emulators offer a similar function.

Of course, as toughmetals mentioned, using FTP is another good option, as is using the ISPF Transfer option (Option 3.7).

... or, zip all of the files on the workstation into a single ZIP archive, upload the single ZIP archive file, then unzip the files into their target system datasets.

OK, so you've selected ISPF option 3.7 (Transfer).

Then, you selected option 1 (Download ISPF C/S component). Did you go ahead and download the ISPF Client (ispfinst.exe) to your desktop? Is the client (wsa.exe) properly installed, configured, and running?

If the client is not available, then you can't even select option 2 (Download/upload ISPF library, partitioned, or seq data set). If the client is working, you can select option 1 to attach to the client, then select option 2 (ISPF C/S (requires workstation connection) to start the connection.

Once you are connected to the client, you should be able to go back and select option 2 from the 3.7 main menu.

You may want to review the z/OS V1R7.0 ISPF User's Guide Vol I - Appendix A. Installing the Client/Server Component and the z/OS V1R7.0 ISPF User's Guide Vol I - Appendix B. Configuring Communications for the ISPF Client/Server manuals.
