That is, is there some 'hello world' implementation sample of accessing cloud storage from z/OS?

I would like to build on such a 'hello world' sample to create a rexx function package.

When you say cloud storage do you mean specifically just the storage bit like Amazon S3?

google with
cloud storage api for ibm zos
amazon cloud storage api for ibm zos
google cloud storage api for ibm zos

search github with
ibm-cloud-platform

look at
cloud.google.com/storage/docs/apis

a pretty good step by step guide on how to
get an account, download and install the api libraries, how to run the provided samples
unfortunatley it is only for the PC
