Hi, apologies in advance as I am not an experienced user.
When in mainframe using IMS, I continually get a "queue" of pages pop up before I get shown my actual selected page.
To be clear, it will go like:
Select IMS, hit enter
Select XXX, hit enter
Shown YYY, hit enter
Shown TTT, hit enter
Shown ZZZ hit enter
Shown XXX
I went to IT with this problem - as at one point I was having to enter through 30 pages to actually get to my selected page.
IT was able to clear my queue for me and the problem was solved, albeit short term.
It has now returned, although I'm only at 6 page throughs so far.
Is there anyway for me to clear the queue myself without constantly having to go to IT to clear it?
I have tried resetting, clearing, and /RCL multiple times in a row - no luck.
Any help appreciated and hope I've posted in the right area. Thank you! |

You may find the PA2 key (note that this is NOT the PF2 key) will clear the unwanted physical messages which are queued for your terminal.
You may need to map a PA2 key onto your keyboard, assuming you are using a PC and not a 3278 terminal from 1980.
PA2 tells IMS to give you the next physical message in the queue.
Your IMS system administrators -should- be able to configure IMS to dequeue all messages in the queue, each time your device opens a session with IMS.
If they do not, then they are also leaving open a security exposure, whereby user B may examine the output of transactions submitted by user A.
IT Security Auditors love this sort of thing. |
