I use J. Wellington Wimpy as my avatar. He is a minor character from the Popeye cartoons, first appearing in 1931. His catchphrase is 'I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.' From Wikipedia, this phrase is now commonly used to illustrate financial irresponsibility.
I chose this character because a manager once promised me a promotion if I stayed and worked on a big project... and then did not deliver the promotion. |
