Greetings,
I am having trouble finding this answer:
How do I retain the information on my Dsname Level line when I logoff so that it is there when I log back in?
Thanks much

It should be saved automatically if you you end the dataset list screen normally by the END key before logoff. Don't know if this is documented anywhere, but you could check the ISPF Users Guide. |

Thanks Willy,
It did not work. It accepted the command and took me back to the primary options menu where I did a =XALL, then, logoff.
I'll keep digging.
On my EJES screen, my Filters Primary selections are not being retained either if I change them.
There's a higher power here at work ;) |

Try writing a small Exec to VPUT the settings to your ISPF table. |

I agree with Mr. Jensen. However, this is an ISPF attribute and stored in your ISPF profile; as long as ISPF ends normally and your ISPF profile is not deleted by some ill advised storage management policy, it should be available the next time you use ISPF no matter how your TSO session ends, whether through LOGOFF or if it is abnormally terminated, most commonly by SMF interval time out (an S622 ABEND).
The data set prefix stored for ISPF data set list is NOT the same as the data set prefix used for data set names elsewhere in ISPF and for TSO commands like ALLOCATE, which is normally inialized as your userid and can be altered using the PROFILE command. This is a TSO attribute and can only be reliably retained by a "normal" logoff. Any update will be lost if your TSO session abnormally terminates. |

I agree that this is likely a problem. Issue command ISRDDN followed by ONLY ISPPROF and make sure the file is allocated to the same data set each time. |
