I have very limited experience as an IMS DBA, I recently got a request to decommission a couple of PSBs that are no longer being used.
What should i be doing to decommission a PSB? I came to know that /DEL PGM command is not advisable to decommission a PSB.
Your help is much appreciated. |

Ask to be send on a training course, or RTFM or STFW! |

I did a Google search on 'delete psb' and the very first item seems to be what you need. |

I tried asking for training course but that's not happening anytime soon, manager says budget issues.
I have googled but did not find any relevant answers for this. As mentioned previously I found the /DEL PGM command is not advisable, so I just wanted to know how to proceed or what needs to be done when needed to decommission a PSB. |

Hi Nic,
That process is for if you have IMS catalog, but we don't have IMS catalog in our environment and the PSBs we're trying to delete are DLI not BMP. |

Well, I have only 2 years of experience and I don't have any senor member in my team right now to seek help. I already mentioned that "my knowledge in IMS is limited". I thought this forum is to provide help or guide the ones who needed. I'm not just posting this simply, I've done my research and googling and did not find anything helpful.
I'm just here asking for some or any guidance that i could get. |

just follow the same process backwards .
hint ...
delete the psb form the psblib
regenerate the ACBs
