Sometime last year I think it was IBM took the old Bookie server manuals offline. After major complaints they were mostly restored.
Today, for the first time in a long time, I did a bookshelf level search and discovered this unwelcome announcement.

The IBM Z Library Archive text is a hyper link. I followed the link, but it was basically useless.
Now I don't mind that the old manuals aren't really maintained. It's not that the manuals being updated! I also realize there is a cost to keep the library server going, but it's not a huge cost. Most of that cost was made to put humpty back together a few weeks ago.
Part of the problem is IBM really refuses to acknowledge PDF manuals are far inferior to Bookmanger reader manuals.
The other part of the problem is some of this stuff is current and is not available anywhere else.
I think it's time to get the complaint machine going again. |
