Hi all,
I have some users that want to do secure print from the mainframe.
I explain, what they really want is just to send the prints jobs and holding on the printer until they will be next to the printer to get it. I mean, it is not a security problem, they say that they are loosing prints a lot of times, because people goes to the printer and takes everything that is printed. So now, a human issue evolve to IT problem.
We are printing throug JCL from a Natural/Adabas environment, with the usual IBM PSF. I was searching but I cannot find even other developers with the same issue. The only thing I found is an utility from Xerox (XPAF) that it is not implement on the system (and it is not going to be). Also I found some references to print throug FTP but nothing clear.
If someone have a solution It will save my day.
Thank you in advance. |

for secure printing - SENSITIVE DATA - , Your organisation will have to provide a secure physical location
and enforce rules for the proper sysout routing
for lost sysout the only way is to educate users |

Yes, that was my first anwser to my boss, but here I am looking for a solution. That is not a valid solution.
Like I said, it is not a matter of sensitive data. They want to have the same funcionality that is on windows. I know that there is a couple of companies offering a complex solution, what it is not the case, also I know that can be made with XPAF or at list is what Xerox said, but no idea of how will be work or affect our system, so I think could be some option to do it and must be throuth JCL.
PD: Can you put it again on JCL. |
