To join the forum, we use Corporate email id.
1. How ever, many of the organisations are restricting use of official email id in external websites.
2. When a person changes the company, while updating the new email id, it is considered as new user.
Also, we will loose all the posts that have been done by a user.
3. In case we loose it, we cannot recover password if we continue to use the previous organisation's email id.
I think we should have an option to update email ID without being considered as a new user. |

Smita.t2 raises a real problem with quite a few sites, and there is no good solution. In the roughly 20 years I've been using the internet I've changed ISPs at least three times, and that meant my xxx@isp.com disappeared. Between the second and third ISP switch I decided to use xxx@zzz.com, where zzz is one of the "public" e-mail providers, like yahoo, gmail (or is it google), hotmail, or outlook for these registrations. I've never used xxx@employer.com. |

I recently changed my email address here and I merely had to visit the emailed confirmation link sent to the new email address after the change.
And I'm still me on this site as the same user with the same post count and profile etc.

Yes. I tried and able to update my email id. Misinterpreted the message in the profile update section.
If you change your email ID, you need to Activate your Account again!
However My Points 1 and 3 are still valid. |

That's incorrect statement. If you are using it then don't and change to personal email id, never use corporate ids anywhere ( My opinion). |
