We have a user who is FTP'ng a file up to the mainframe, he's new and his predecessor didn't have the problem (but she's no longer around to ask). Everything comes up fine except for spaces, they're coming across as x'00' which is causing a nightmare for the job using the file.
Here are the commands he is entering:
cd c:\ftp
ftp ipo1
username
password
append filename.txt ‘testprd.oc.sd.ft.ocjr0001.upload'
Any thoughts? Done several searches here and on the web, but to no avail. |

well looks like a long time has gone by since the old employee left
that she cannot be contacted for a quick and dirty question
unfortunately you did not post anything useful to provide an answer
could it be that what You think should be spaces are not really something else on the PC ?
how does the file look like on the PC - HEXDUMP format |

Yes, show us the hex values of input file and the destination Mainframe file.
We would be able to arrive at a solution from that. |
