Hi,
I need help with the IBM rational development tool for zos systems. I'm trying to create a JSON webservice using it and chose restful as the option. I'm the service provider and would like to create a simple GET request.. when using the tool I'm able to give only the input copy book but not the output copy book.. and also the COBOL program that gets generated has get container but no put container.. so how should I go ahead in writing the COBOL code so send some JSON response back..

I'm totally new to this... Have worked with XML soap services.. but new to JSON restful services.. also are there any tutorial or sample program using rdz tool for JSON.. I have seen many for ibm zos connect but none for rdz for restful service..

Any small thing to get started would be useful..

Also I have tried using the request response type for JSON and I have got a JSON response but without the data, just the JSON structure was returned.. but want to create a restful one rather than the request response one..

Thanks in advance,
Kev

This is a forum where responses are voluntary and depend upon people having the interest, knowledge, and time to respond. It can be hours ... or days ... or weeks or months between the original post and a response. This is normal and common.

Posting the exact same topic a second time 24 hours after the initial post is NOT going to get you better or faster answers and usually leads to people who COULD respond deciding not to bother since you're not following the forum rules. If you have such an urgent requirement, you may want to convince your management to hire a consultant to provide you assistance. Or you may want to see what is available on IBM's developerWorks (if you haven't already); there is limited information here on this forum -- my search indicates only 7 posts with "restful" in them and 2 of those 7 posts are yours.

Hi Robert Sample,

Apologies for the duplication I had not received any mail that my post was up on the site and I was using the site from my mobile so I thought that it wasn't posted due to network issues and I submitted the form again.

Thanks dbzTHEdinosauer, will have a look.
