I want to send an email which notifies the current generation number of a GDG.
Scenario:
We receive C.P.FD1234.PROF(0) files thru NDM. We use these generations as input in our job. Every time we run a generation we make a note of it and share with the team so that we don't duplicate the run with the same file.
So to automate this task I want to trigger an email to notify which generation of the file is run. |

We are running multiple generations(2 to 3) during IST time and some more generations are run during EST time. We are now manually sharing the generations which we ran.
But sometimes we miss to share this information during end of the day. In this case we have to manually check which generations are run by referring to the job which has ran using these generations.
Now I am thinking to bypass this manual process by auto triggering an email about the file which has run.
I am not sure how SMTP works in dynamically picking up the current generation number. |

It doesn't - you have to write a little program that will extract the information that you want and write to the smtp-enabled sysout class. |
