Is it possible to check how many times a VSAM file is updated in a day? When I do a listcat for the file, i see only the latest update.

I don't think you can but you can always check with Storage Team at your site, btw why would you need that?

Check with your site support group. It may be possible to read the SMF data for that day to determine the number of times the VSAM data set was updated; only your site support group can tell you for sure whether or not this is possible (not all sites collect all SMF data).
