You are in a rush. Take breath and Google it first or search on this forum or use Beginner's forum
ibmmainframeforum.com/
look for the scheduling team in your project unless you are one of them. |

He is a beginner. Let him go to a beginners forum, or his boss asking for courses.
This forum is going down the drain with customers like that. |

It may not be him. It's the problem with almost all the IT organizations. They give 20% knowledge but expect 120% productivity.
And, People have become so comfortable in asking questions on the forum that, they forget, there are others around them to help.
And, if there is no person in the organization that can help, then there is no point in staying there because of two reasons:
1. The organization didn't value the persons having enough knowledge about the product
2. If they didn't value them, then most probably they will not value you, even if you learn and work more than required
So, my suggestion is, Ask Around and If you don't find enough information then raise it with management.

I think you need to clarify what you want to know. You asked about a specific job scheduler -- CA-7 -- and not just about job scheduling.
A job scheduler is used on a mainframe to control the processing of batch jobs. Some jobs cannot start until prior jobs complete; some jobs cannot start until a certain time of day (or even only on certain days of the week / month / year); some jobs should start once a particular data set has been created. The job scheduler allows all of these requirements to be used so that a batch job doesn't start executing until it meets the requirements. Job schedulers vary in their capabilities but generally all of them do most of the same things. CA-7, Control-M, TWS, Zeke are some of the mainframe schedulers in use. |

As Robert has said, the function of a job scheduler is to schedule jobs. You will have to be a little more specific with your questions if you want meaningful answers.
The IBM TWS manuals are readily available, and whilst some of the content is particular to TWS, the first few pages are still worth reading for anyone who is unfamiliar with the concept. Get the Managing the Workload manual (SC32-1263) and read the first few pages - "What is the Scheduler". |
