Hello,

I am trying to find a rough ballpark figure of 'SAS licensing' cost.
We know that SAS is licensed per machine and varies according to size of lpar.

I came across this link which gives the licensing costs.
www.execinfosys.com/ProductsOld/IBMMF_2.pdf

On the link, it classifies mainframes as GSA CLASS A,B,C...

Could you please let me know what 'GSA Class' does a Z196-2817-606 machine fall under? (SAS is licensed to run on all lpars on the CEC)

Regards,

SAS is not noted for sharing license cost information. Your best bet to get a good number would be to talk to the IT contracts person at your site (if your site has SAS licensed already), or contact a SAS sales representative directly.
