Hi,
I am in progress of migrating FTP jobs to SFTP. The remote application is a distributed application. I am able to establish connectivity with remote server and place files in their server. In one of the transmitted file, i find there are few difference in the data transmitted, when i compare the file sent via FTP and SFTP (Same file was sent to FTP and SFTP). I see the difference is becasue of garbage value in the file being transmitted.
Following are few Difference:
1) Mainframe file has value X'08' (in position 10,1), after transmission the values are:
The file being transmitted via SFTP has value '—' (in position 10, 1). The file transmitted via FTP has value '->' (in position 10, 1).
2) Mainframe file has value x'69' (in position 9,1), after transmission the values are:
The file being transmitted via SFTP has value 'Ñ' (in position 9, 1). The file transmitted via FTP has value '¬' (in position 9, 1).
I am not sure which of the file transmitted has correct value. Can anyone explain why the data was modified for the transmission, Does it have something to do with EBCDIC data to ASCII conversion. I am using 'BPXFX311' conversion table for EBCDIC to ASCII conversion. And the file transmission mode is binary.
Thanks in advance for your help. |
