Also how to i match it as an MOD9 in my VTOC definition ??

It is a training system, the staff who did the config in storage is not in the company any more and I could not get any more help on this......Pls provide a valuable help.

  1. You "create" a 3390-9 device using the device definition commands for your RAID device. The details will be in the documentation for your RAID device.
  2. The only "unusual " detail in the VTOC is its size in the ICKDSF command used to initialize the volume. A 3390-9 VTOC should be sized perhaps 3 times the size of a 3390-3 VTOC.

In my system the 3390-9 TSO storage volumes were defined with 10 cylinder VTOCs. Just a bit over allocated; most of them have 3 used tracks!

Probably quickest to talk to your Storage or Hardware support people

Some options to find existing 3390-9 if you have Quickref or FDR:

Quickref- enter QW S=* in TSO which will show the volumes online and their capacities. Shows 10000 cyls for Mod-9's, 30000 for Mod-27 and 60000 for Mod-54 (col 17). You might have to page right to see the capacity field (CYLS)
