Good evening everyone.
Iam trying to create a test environment by copying files from UAT region. In short iam copying files using ADRDSSU utility with renameu and chaging the file name from CLNTNME.UAT.** to CLNTNME.TST.**. All files are getting copied except for files in tape. Please note files in tape are created by some jobs and not thru adrdssu dump.
After going thru the job output i got this - ADR383W
- "A migrated or tape data set was not selected by using a partially
qualified name and setting the flag to ON at offset X'17' of ADRPATCH"
Searched net but could not find anything meaningful(atleast to me). Can some body please have a look and let me know what needs to be done |

ADDRSU is for DASD datasets only.
Use something like IEBGENER for tape files - however the utility required may be dependant on the utility which created the tapes originally. |

Thanks Expat. I had doubt about that. Everywhere in manual it was DASD and SMS, but when I checked one of the prod jobs, it was dumping the data to tape. So thought there might be some way to copy from tape also instead of restore.
Will FDR (IBM Fast Dump Restore) will be of any use for me? |

Isn't FDR an Innovation product rather than an IBM one ?
Also, FDR is a product just like ADDRSU - for DASD datasets |

You are correct expat, FDR is not IBM product.
Checked with storage management in our company and they are also not able suggest anything |
