Hi,
DB2 is not my expertise and i am looking for some help on MQT's on system Z. we have never used MQT's in our shop. After reading some IBM manuals i am drawn into using MQT as a result table to derive data from 3 very large tables. the result table is expected to be very small and I need to refresh the MQT at the beginning of an ad-hoc application batch processing. i am thinking of executing the REFRESH statement using utility program DSNTIAD. Does the job/step wait till the MQT is completely refreshed or will it complete after issuing the REFRESH statement to DB2?? I am assuming that it will wait and provide me the result via RC.
The MQT will be created as SYSTEM MAINTAINED and REFRESH DEFERRED. Do you guys see any issue with this approach?
Thanks in advance
