Match input file using key and write to output file

Hi,

I have 2 input files with same record length (480)
I want to match the key (starting from 7 to length 17) if there is a match found in both input files then write to output file.

The input file contains duplicate records

Hello,

Suggest you read about JOINKEYS.

In addition to the sort documentation, there are many examples here in the forum. Use the SEARCH to find them.

You can use DFSORT's JOINKEYS function for that. For some examples, see the "Create files with matching and non-matching records" Smart DFSORT Trick at:
