To fetch records of particular date

I have a Monthly file which has records of whole month. I want to retrieve records of particular date without manually editing the file. In some case file is too large to open in edit mode and it goes to browse mode. for example in file we have filed which specifies date and then for that date we have records as shown:

2013-01-01 (ccyy-mm-dd)
aaaa
bbbb
ccc
2013-01-02
eee
dfd
sdsf
2013-01-03
sss
dddf
ewee
...
...
...
2013-01-30
wew
eer
2013-01-31
wwq
wwww

and so on. Let above file is of month of Jan and I want to get records of 25th Jan. Let me know if we can use sort/icetool
