Hello,
Recently i posted this topic asking about running Mainframe applications in a/the cloud:
ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=60893
So far no one has replied that they have done/seen this.
As part of this exercise, i've also been asked it there is a way to directly access a SAN (Storage Area Network) from code running on the mainframe. Due to the nature of the way dasd is supported on the mainframe versus SAN, i suspect this is not yet possible. I am just wondering if there is add-on software that allows this to happen.
Thanks,
d |

Check out these Redbooks:
Introduction to Storage Area Networks, SG24-5470
Designing an IBM Storage Area Network, SG24-5758
Nothing immediately indicates what z/OS can do with a SAN, but there does seem to be a goodly number of Google hits for z/os storage area network |
