I have written an Excel macro to run on Mainframe Screens. The test is successful when mainframe is connected via LAN. Now my question is, how the locally stored Excel macro be run if the mainframe is connected via VPN? Do I need to copy the same to a network drive connected through VPN and then run the macro from that location?
Thanks in advance. |

Suggest you should be asking this question to your local support. If it's working on LAN it should be working for VPN (virtual private network) as the policies for the VPN at your shop are local to your shop.

I'm guessing that your VPN connection removes the pc from the local network. I know mine does.
I guess copying it to a network drive that is attached to the VPN target network would work. You could probably also copy it to the local machine. I'm not sure if this is just for you or a group though.
There ARE some advanced connection options where you can share a drive between networks, but they can be disabled to prevent cross infections. |
