I have a common source. From that I can generate two different loads(using pre-compiler). But I am not able to promote both the load together, as there is time stamp mismatch.
Is there any way out to this.
Thanks in advance for any replies... |

This is an issue to discuss with people working at your site. We do not work at your site and do not know which software product you are using for promotion (Endevor? Changeman? Panvalet? something else?), much less any of the other details that must be known. It may -- or may not -- be possible to promote both at one time.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Why does someone believe that generating 2 different load modules from the same source is acceptable?
And this isw Not the requirement. It may be intended to meet some requirement, but it is Not the requirement.
Possibly, you could explain . . . |

I'm not getting it -- you're talking about pre-compiler and time-stamp mismatch -- so are you talking about COBOL-DB2 program? Or Application programming with DB2 in some other language as your post is in 'Other Mainframe Topics'?
Also as worded, "two different loads" - what exactly do you mean and why time-stamp is a question here? |

If you have need of the same source for two different programs, in some way "put together" with some different option which along the way produces different loadmodule content, why don't you make them two programs, with the "new" one being inly a copy/include/whatever of the actual source, with "replaced" program-id (for instance)?
I think you really have to explain exactly why you want to do this, and exactly what you have done, and exactly the error(s) arising, including message number(s).
I suppose LinkedIn gives you a "fresh" source of people to look at the problem, but with answers already here, it gives the impression that in some way you don't like what you are getting here, which will not encourage people to provide assistance. Self-fulfilling prophecy. |
