Why are you posting in multiple places? What does this have to do with DFSORT? |

Have you got any documentation for messages from your tape management system? |

You will have to involve Your storage people to find out about the tape source of the problem |

googling for TMSTMSTV-08 made easy to find ...
Quote: |
TMSTMSTV-08 vvvvvv EXPIRE IGNORED, NOT EXTERNALLY MANAGED
| Explanation: TMC FLAG3 indicates that this tape volume is not externally managed, or the
| application which releases the volume cannot be identified as EDM.
| User Response: If the EDM has correctly relinquished control of the volume, you will need to
| manually expire the tape in the TMC. If the EDM bit X'20' or FLAG3 is on, the ETM bit X'01' of
| FLAG2 also needs to be set to allow the tape to be scratched by TMSCLEAN. You should ensure
| that the EDM definitions in the TMOEDMxx member of CAI.PPOPTION are properly set to
| allow BrightStor CA-1 to flag the appropriate volumes as EDM controlled during output
| processing, and. to find a matching rule |
nothing that You could not have found out Yourself |

Hello,
Log onto the CA Support site (support.ca.com), register, and download all of the CA-1 material if you are to deal with CA-1 issues.
If your organization is licensed to use the product, all of the documentation is downloadable free. |
