Queries from his side -
Is the current market scenario can land him a job in Mainframe after training(he is fully committed for hard work )?
Which Mainframe institute will be best for him as per his academic profile ?
Please help him in begining his career in IT by your valuable comments. |

Hello and welcome to the forum,
It is very difficuly (if even possible) for us to recommend what should be done next. We're pretty good at technical questions, but offering advice to someone in a totally unfamiliar environment is beyond my ability.
As India is a large place, i'd suggest you find someone who has been locally (close to where you/he live) trained and talk with them. Some training institutes help with job placement ater graduation and some do not.
Find someone in the business for a recommendation about which institute(s) are good and which to stay away from. Many are just in it for the money and are not concerned about the quality/depth of their training or if their students are qualified to be hired even as a "fresher".
Is relocation a possibility? There may be better training / employment opportunities elsewhere (again depending on where is currently local). |

Hello,
I too was doing similar research for my cousin brother - 2012 passout.
If your friend is from Chennai then Maples ESM has good mainframe lab. They offer 2 courses, application programming and mainframe administration. They also provide placement assistance/assured palcements for about 5 to 6 companies with fees around 40K - 4 months full time training.
Alternatively, a Java course in NIIT might be better option(3 months, 32K fees + placement assistance in 5 to 6 companies). I know this is a forum for mainframe people. But my "personal opinion" is a Java course in NIIT has more chances of landing in a better job than a Mainframe course. |
