Named "links" or "i am looking for a link to subject ..."
idea is anytime someone is just wants a link to a manual,
the one about changing/converting CCSID tables
is a good example.
questions like how does this work, should be removed/deleted/etc.
and if the topic is typically stupid, like Db2 BOOK, should also be deleted.
often members only want to know where to look,
not actually wanting help on a subject,
but a link, so that they can deal with it themselves.
yeah, all subjects. |

I don't think I see great value in such a forum; few querents seem to be looking for links, and most of those who claim to be are the type who write, "I Googled for such-and-such but couldn't find anything", when a repetition of their supposed actions return tens of thousands to tens of millions of results, with what they're looking for on the first page. Unless the moderators move to it every thread that ends with "Search the fine Web!", I fear that it will see no use. |

We have some useful materials in for of sticky
and links to very good manuals on top
and you get all ibm related stuff here
And just in a philosophical sense people cant resolve mainframe problems who cant resolve their own |
