over the years I have collected some things that I found useful
during my 'core learning' years. I am still learning, I now learn
quicker because I understand a few basic fundamentals.
Some of the pdf's are from 2003 2004, but the info is still helpful. |

Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks, Dick.
I'm attaching a document with ISPF module names. If you know what you're doing, you can call these modules directly from within your REXX/COBOL.

How hard would it have been to Cut&Paste this between
tags, so that those without access to Macro$haft's expensive software could also read it. |

Too plain :-)
I'd have asked Ofer nicely if I wasn't going to bother doing anything to get around it myself.
I'd have also asked dbz if he could copy/past and format from all the pdfs. I'd not need the pictures and the design of the page, but the examples would be nice.
But, even without excessive effort on my part, I have been able to access all the information already. So, it is not beyond the wit of man at all.
OK, for those who can't download at work, there are such things as homes, or internet cafes, aren't there?
Thank you dbz, than you Ofer. I appreciate your efforts and am happy to do my bit to take advantage of them. |

Just three days ago...
FWIW, what other response can you give to dimwits asking questions like how to attach or detach components to a complex package in, in this case, the REXX & CLIST forum?
If you look through my posts, the great majority is helpful.
FWIW, Ofer71's 97K attachment translates to a 3k text file... You and I may have fast internet, but how about others in more far-away parts of the world, and those who still pay per minute? (LibreOffice is a download of a mere 193Mb...)

Prino,
you
provide a lot of good info,
are a well skilled professional
are a 'fluffing' liberal.
problem with 'fluffing' liberals is when they see a problem,
they want others to fix it.
the proper solution is to do what you did,
convert the .doc to .txt and then create a post of your own.
and thx for the post,
from which I can cut&paste and create my own document (.txt). |

Since I heard no complaints about PDF...:
From Office 2007 (and possibly even before), there is the possibility to "Save as PDF".
If I remember well, OpenOffice can do that too.
At home, I have CutePDF (Freeware) which allows me to "print" from anywhere to a PDF file.
When sharing documents, PDF is my favorite format.
I'll just join Bill to say thank you dbz and Ofer.
PS: I am not related to CutePDF. |

PDF Reader is Free.
MS applications such as WORD are not,
though OPEN OFFICE provides a free solution. |

OpenOffice is all but dead, better start using LibreOffice which is free of corporate interests... |

Prino, I have no end of time for your technical skills. To me, you not only know things, but you know how to do things properly. Which is professional.
I'd prefer to not to have to sift out the rubbish that can come with it, in the same way I'd prefer not to have to sift out the different rubbish from the average TS.
If for some reason the one has to come with the other, so be it. I'll go with your good stuff and keep sifting on the occasions it is necessary. |
